Katie & Joe’s Georgetown Wedding

It’s a funny story how I met Katie. While planning my own wedding I took my parents and fiancé to see the Bachelor Boys Band live showcase at Iota Club in Arlington. While we were there my Dad started chatting with Katie and her friend at the bar about her wedding. He asked her if she had a wedding planner and she said no, so he called me over to give her my card. I wasn’t sure it would lead anywhere considering I had no idea what my Dad had said, but she called and wanted to work together. My Dad asked for his “cut” once I told him the news- ha!

Katie & Joe met while attending Georgetown University, so it was only fitting they would get married at Dahlgren Chapel on campus. They had a beautiful Catholic Ceremony followed by pictures on campus and by the Potomac River. Their cocktail hour took place on top of the Old Ebbitt Grille building with views of the white house. The reception was in the atrium connected to the restaurant. It was a rare beautiful breezy day in August!

Ringing in 2018 as Newlyweds!

Bonnie is the type of Bride you want to be BFF with after the wedding. She is super sweet, bubbly, and fun. We instantly connected during our first call when she told me she was from Mississippi and we talked all things southern! Bonnie and her fiancé Filipe decided to tie the knot at District Winery before they even opened. She trusted the reviews from their other location in Chicago and booked the venue. It was my first time working there and it was a great set up with a very helpful staff. New Years Eve was especially cold this year but that didn’t stop everyone from looking beautiful and having a great time. The wedding brought together Mississippi & Brazilian details. The bridesmaids ear muffs are one of my favorite bridesmaids gifts to date!

Lisa & Andrew Movit’s Brunch Wedding

In April, I had the pleasure of planning Lisa and Andrew’s Brunch Wedding at Springfield Golf & Country Club. The couple have been good friends of mine for a few years now and my parents are members of the venue. Everything was very familiar this time around! The wedding was filled with personal details. The Bride is a video journalist so she had newspapers made on etsy for the programs. The table numbers represented different numbers in their lives such as the age of their dog, their first house number, the years they were born, etc. Pictures of the couple at all ages were decorated around the coffee and gift tables. The wedding favors were Costa Rican coffee beans to give everyone a taste of their honeymoon. It was a beautiful day and the weather was great. Congratulations Lisa and Andrew 🙂
